Balloton on glass

Murano glass working technique

For the Balloton manufacturing, the artist relies on the use of a metal mold, with small pyramid points with a square base which, when blown, give an optical effect of crossed relief. To define the decoration, a hot colored thread is applied.

From 1970 to the present

In the 1970s, art became more conceptual and expressive and the patterns of classical forms were abandoned. During these years of metamorphosis, the surface abandoned its hardness and with the Balloton technique, glass began to take on a visually soft form.
